Electrician Certification

After you have completed your schooling, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship, electrician certifications are next. Certifications show an electrician's accumulated knowledge and skills, and they may also enhance employment and advancement opportunities. In addition to the certified electrician credential, you can also obtain electrician certification in specific areas, such as instrumentation or cable splicing.

The IEC National Certified Professional Electrician Exam covers the key concepts and practical skills across the four-year IEC Electrical Apprenticeship Program. Competencies on these exams come from the Core Concepts, which appear at the end of each year. These two exams occur over a two day period.

Upon a successful completion of these exams, applicants will receive an IEC National Certified Professional Electrician Certificate, wallet card, and recognition from IEC National.
